2015

-CAPE COD 2015-

Previous:

After the return from Cape Cod in 2004, a period of reflection would begin on what had happened that summer, all the experiences and the power to have managed to visit that place. I had brought a lot of clothes and accessories that i had never accumulated in such a short time. It was a dream come true.

During the following months I had gotten a new job where and the opportunity to keep abreast of what I had lived and thought about my childhood, I kept writing and looking for music about those times, so much so that I created a strange combination about music from the beginning of the The 80s with what was experienced in the United States, a combination of nostalgia during the trip, but it was a very strong feeling after that trip.

The following year 2005 my former Roofing boss “Michael Aronne” made a visit to the boys and we enjoyed a few days together. Mike took a nap on the gallery of my house.

The years would pass and new daily activities would prevent my return to Cape Cod and year after year I remembered a historical longing for Cape Cod. My cousin Américo moved permanently, and my cousin Jochi, who had already lived there for some years, started a family. My friends Dalvin, Rodolfo and friends did not return.

In 2012 there was a job opportunity at a gas station where they would pay to work at it. At that time I could not go and it was presented that my brother Miguel Eugenio would go to work. He only lasted months working there, he went to another state.

2015.

Time passed and it seemed that I would not return to Cape Cod after 11 years when suddenly the same job opportunity opens up on Cape Cod at the same Gas Station, because work was required. Everything was happening with positive winds for this trip, I saw the Goonies again until one afternoon at my house in La Zurza I was organising the room and I felt that I should go. I spoke with Américo and staying that I would be at Jochi's house. By then Américo was already living in Boston.

During those days I organised everything and moved from La Zurza. Everything was already prepared for said trip that would be on July 2, 2015.

CAPE COD 2015 - July

Thursday 2 July

I fly to Boston without any problem, immediately Américo met me at the door of the airport and we went by train to his house in Boston, then I accompanied him to his work and spent a few hours walking in the city of Boston, I went to Chinatown, the smell of the city was amazing, the street food etc. I had never had the opportunity to walk in the city of Boston. This would be my 6th visit to the city. Then I met Américo again and he took me to the airport to take the bus to Hyannis. During the trip I saw an incredible sunset from the window. Then I arrived at the bus station and Jochi looked for me. He had come to Centerville at night. The children slept.

In Boston – At Jochi's House

Friday 3rd

We got up early and I accompanied Jochi to work. During the tour I was greatly surprised by the current reality that I was living in being back on Cape Cod, the memories of 2004 flowed like indescribable joy in my emotions. We visited some houses that he and a colleague were going to start working with. Then at about 4:30 we went to look for Jochi's children, Emily and Ben who were at a camp in the afternoon. It was my first time meeting them. In the afternoon (the sun was going down very late) I breathed air into the bicycle and I began to ride around the neighborhood, getting to know the streets and roads. It was all a dream come true. I had a beer with Jochi and we went out to the Supermarket.

Saturday 4th

Holiday: The family did not work and Jochi was mending some lumber for a Cape Cod project he was doing. Then I went on the bike, I went to the Mall, I appeared to the Fino and he was surprised, we talked a little, Then I went for the first time to Camp Street to the Gas Station where I went to work to introduce myself to the owner or whoever might correspond. Then I went to West Yarmouth to remember all the places I had lived in 2004. Brentwood Hotel, Willow Street, etc. Upon returning to Hyannis there was an activity for the 4th of July.

Sunday 5th

I went with the family to Sandy Neek Beach and a couple of family friends with their children, we had beers, we enjoyed the wind from the beach. Many dunes and very long. I did not bathe in the water.

Jochi in Sandy Neek – With the Fino at Juanito's (Mechanics)

Monday 6th

I went to the Gas Station to see how the work was going there, but there were still no vacancies. Then I went to Hyannis and saw Veterans Beach, a very desolate place. Rest a little there.

Tuesday 7

One long day, I went to Hyannis to talk to a Brazilian man to see if a job would appear for me in a restaurant, which was another option, but everything was slow. This Brazilian had met my brother when he lived there. Then I went to Craigville Beach, the beach I once saw in 2004 with Mike from the truck where the young people were jumping off a bridge. While I was there, there was a haze that obscured the entire view. Then it passed quickly and I went to Centerville by a road (Starboard Ln) that I was discovering thanks to a map that I had downloaded by application on my cell phone. Then I went from the house in Centerville to look for cans of beer that people were throwing near the Liquore Store that was on Falmouth Rd next to the Police. When I got home I noticed that I didn't have my wallet and I had lost it with money inside and my ID. I immediately went on the bike searching the ground and until I found it. I feel like something mysterious happened, I think it was a life lesson.

Wednesday 8

Join Jochy to Plymouth Massachusetts off Cape Cod, a very beautiful place full of very old and giant pine trees. I had brought the camera and took some photos of the place. It turned out that they called Jochy from the Gas Station, The partner of Jochi "Kyle" gave me a ride to the Gas Station on Camp Street. They told me they were going to notify me for work.

Thursday 9

I already had a week in the United States. I spent the day at the house. I washed Jochi's pool.

Friday 10

I took a bike ride through Centerville, incredibly I saw Jochi and Kyle on the street, they were in the truck to work.

Saturday 11

I did not go out in the morning, I practiced with the wooden by cutting them. After they arrived from their respective jobs, the family and i went to Mayflower Beach. We passed through Barnstable Village, the oldest village. Then at Mayflower Beach, it was an exquisite beach and a lot of tourism than all the beaches I had seen before. We watched the sunset on the beach.

Wednesday 15

I went with Jochi to Chattan to work, with Kyle. We went to 238 Seapine Rd in South Chattam, Jochi worked the basement with thermal insulation. The house in the basement had many old tools and an office. The owners were persons already apparently retired. I took some photos of other houses in the area with hydrangeas of incredible beauty. The house we where went is very beautiful. Some time later my dad used that photo of the house as a background for the cover of his Facebook. Later that day we returned to Plymouth on the outskirts of Cape Cod. With my camera I walked and took many photos of the place. Then we went through Juanito's mechanics workshop and I met up with El Fino. That night the new cell phone screen had arrived and because it was broken, it could not take good quality pictures before that.

My new work: Camp Street (Save On) Gas Station.

Thursday 16th

First day of work (Training) Jochi took me in the truck with the bike behind and dropped me off at Hyannis Harbor, something that would happen very often, I would wait a while there and then ride the bike to the Gas Station Camp Street. Trees in Mount Washington

We went to Mount Washington: We went up in the vehicle on a road that leads us to the top. The pines were getting smaller and smaller. There was snow in the parking lot. Upstairs the cold was so great that there was ice on the balconies. Upstairs it was totally rocky, with no trees and viewpoints. When we went down we went to another national park where people could be seen rappelling down. Then we all had burgers for dinner at Pulled Pork. Then we got home very late. One of the best days of the year.
